The Ontario Association of Radiology Managers, Inc. (OARM) was founded on May 13, 1983 in response to a need for formal organization of Imaging Managers throughout the Province of Ontario.
A group of dedicated members of the Association of Administrative Radiological Technologists of Metropolitan Toronto Hospitals (1968-1982) organized an information seminar in September 1982 to gauge interest of the Province. Needless to say, the response was most favourable and as a result a steering committee was struck with the mandate to prepare for formal organization of an association.
Thus, on May 13, 1983, at the Carlton Hotel in Toronto, after much enthusiastic discussion regarding the name, the OARM came into being with a Charter membership of approximately seventy-five people with representation from all disciplines.
